Experience an unforgettable trip from Kampala to the serene shores of Diani. With exciting travel, beach vibes, nightlife, shopping and more, this itinerary guarantees good vibes only.
On 28th December, the adventure begins! We shall all meet at the National Theatre at exactly 2:00 PM—bags packed, spirits high, and hearts full of anticipation. This will be the moment we kick off our magnificent vacation together. After brief introductions and a few group photos, we'll set off by 3:30 PM, embarking on our exciting overnight journey from Kampala to Nairobi. The scenic road trip will take approximately 12 to 13 hours, giving us a chance to bond, share stories, and dream about the coastal magic awaiting us in Diani.
By early morning on December 29th, between 5:30 AM and 7:30 AM, we’ll roll into Nairobi City. Here, we'll hop into Ubers and cruise straight to the Nairobi Terminus to catch the iconic SGR train bound for Mombasa. This 6-hour train ride treats us to breathtaking views of the wild Kenyan savannah and landscapes as we make our way to the coast. Upon arriving in Mombasa, we’ll hop on the Likoni Ferry, and sail into the dreamy paradise of Diani Town. Once we reach our accommodation, it’s time to check in, freshen up, grab a bite, and unwind. The rest of the evening is for personal relaxation. At 9:00 PM, we gather for a warm, hearty supper before retiring at leisure.
December 30th welcomes us fully into the Diani experience. After a laid-back 9:00 AM breakfast, we’ll head to the spectacular Diani Beach for a full day of freedom, fun, and sun! Think jet skiing, snorkeling, camel rides, beach volleyball, and paddleboarding — or just soaking up the sun and sipping fresh coconut juice under the palm trees. As the golden hour sets in, we’ll head to the serene Kongo River for a magical sundowner experience — nature, colors, and calm all in one breathtaking moment. After dinner at 8:00 PM, the night comes alive with Diani’s electrifying nightlife — beach lounges, dance floors, or just vibes under the stars. This is your night to feel the coast.
December 31st begins early with breakfast at 7:30 AM, followed by check-out and a return trip to Mombasa Town. Before catching the train back to Nairobi, we’ll explore the charm of Mombasa’s heritage through a short city tour — from the ancient Fort Jesus, through the narrow alleys of Old Town, to the striking Mombasa Tusks on Moi Avenue and perhaps a quick stop at Mama Ngina Waterfront. By 2:00 PM, it’s all aboard the SGR again, heading to Nairobi just in time to welcome the New Year. Upon arrival, we’ll check in to our residences and split up — some heading for New Year’s Eve prayers, while others dive into Nairobi’s famous nightlife scene. We’ll reunite at 1:00 AM, share a moment, and return to our accommodations for rest.
1st January is a relaxed day. Wake up at leisure, enjoy breakfast, and get ready for a casual Nairobi city tour. This is your time to explore shopping malls, discover art galleries, or grab souvenirs from places like Sarit Centre, The Village Market, or Maasai Market. Whether you're chasing last-minute gifts or tasting Kenyan coffee in a cozy café, Nairobi will have something special for you. By 3:00 PM, we’ll head to the bus station, ready to begin our journey back home to Kampala—with hearts full and cameras bursting with memories.
We’ll arrive back in Kampala between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM on 2nd January, bringing our incredible Diani vacation to a beautiful close. After a quick official check-out, we’ll part ways and head to our respective homes—recharged, inspired, and ready to take on the new year with unforgettable memories, new friendships, and stories to tell for years to come.
